Our head coach Rav Dighe<\/strong>\u2019s life has been all about triathlon and bringing the best out in others ever since he first became involved in the sport in 1982. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rav recalls: “One of my greatest inspirations was Dr. Lamm from Battle Creek, Michigan, where I lived \u2014the first person I knew who had raced Ironman Hawaii. Seeing someone from my world make it to Kona made the impossible feel within reach. It left a lasting mark on me\u2014shaping my understanding of endurance, commitment, and quiet excellence.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Since racing the Chicago Triathlon in 1984, he has participated in 100s of European, UK and international events, including 20 full Ironman events. His racing highlight came in 2016 when we had a chance to race at the Ironman Hawaii World Championships. Life had come full circle!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With coaching certifications from British Triathlon (Level 3 High Performance), Ironman University, TrainingPeaks (Level 2), and more, Rav is one of the most experienced coaches around.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has supported the Triathlon England GoTri\/Swim Bike Run <\/span>programme and the East Region Committee alongside sitting on Tri-Force Juniors\u2019<\/a> committee.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outstanding Contribution Award<\/strong><\/p>\n

This award from Triathlon England is given to individuals, clubs, or organisations that have demonstrated a long-term commitment and impact on the sport.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The award celebrates those who have inspired and motivated others through their achievements, resilience, or other extraordinary contributions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2023, the national winner of this award was Rav Dighe for decades of excellent contribution to the sport, from coaching to events.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Children’s Coach of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

The “Triathlon England Children’s Coach of the Year” award\u00a0<\/span>recognizes and celebrates the outstanding contributions of coaches who work with junior triathletes.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In 2018, Rav won the national Triathlon England award for \u201cChildren\u2019s Coach of the Year\u201d<\/strong>, following consecutive wins for the same award in the Triathlon England East Region in 2017 and 2018!<\/span><\/p>\n

This was following years for running kids camps and also being head coach at Tri-Force Juniors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Events and Inclusivity Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n

Triathlon England has recognised our work in other areas, too.<\/p>\n

Rav won the Triathlon England East Region Inclusivity award in 2023, as well the London region award for GoTri initiative of the year in 2023.<\/strong> Held at the Lee Valley VeloPark, these events enabled many diverse athletes to participate in duathlons for the first time.<\/p>\n

In addition, as head coach and race director at Tri-Force Juniors, he organised the TFJ triathlon, which won Children’s event of the year in 2025.<\/p>\n
